Locate the battery compartment at the waist of the skirt. It is located under the second layer of the fabric.

Replace the batteries, making sure the polarity is correct.

My 4yo might already have a 100 princess dresses, but none of them light up so this has quickly become a favorite for twirling around the house. I have to say, it's pretty cool all lit up. Fits her well, but I sized up, she's pretty tall for her age. The battery pack is hidden in a little inside pocket and stays pretty secure. She's pretty gentle with her dresses so I couldn't tell you if it would hold up to a rough toddler. Material seems good though.

This dress is comfortable, and has multiple layers. The inner layer that holds the lights is ruched, and a couple inches shorter than the outer decorative layers. The directions say to hand wash, so I washed it under a delicate cycle, and air dried it. One of the components of the battery pack came off in the wash, but was easy to put back on. So if you're washing, double check that everything is there afterwards, or use a piece of tape around the battery pack and take it off afterwards and open it so it dries properly. As you can see, the lights work properly after the wash, and they are beautiful. My daughter loved how they look.

I purchased the dress in size 3-4. The inner size tag says 110. Size 110 typically is for sizes 4-5 from our experience. As such, this dress is too long, and you would not be able to see your child's shoes such as they show in the stock image. If your child wears size 3, I would downsize to size 2-3. My daughter will need to wait a year till she's a little taller. She's currently 37-38" tall and in size 3-4. Dress is 2" too long, sleeves also have room to grow.
